Oct 13, 2007

Music and Mayhem is a can’t-miss showcase of Toronto's independent music and theatre communities. Hosted by comedy duo Parker & Seville, the night will feature a variety of hot musical acts and end up with the sweet DJ sounds of Jonathan Swayze.

The evening will open with singer-songwriter Catherine Dorkin, followed by a sneak peak of David Arcus and Daniel Cummings' upcoming space rock opera, Kid Cosmic. Matt Empacher will follow with some aggressive acoustic pop, mixing diverse influences from Blue Rodeo to Metallica. Antonino Giambrone will take to the piano for a rare solo set, fresh off the release of In Case of Emergency, the debut CD of his band The Flat Planets. Closing off the night will be the 3 part harmonies, sweet violin licks and whimsical lyrics of alt-country act The Dirty Dishes.

The night will also feature an art and prizes auction with rare and incredible treasures to be won from local artists and businesses.

Proceeds raised will support Cheshire Unicorn’s November production of Unicorn Horns at Theatre Passe Muraille, which recently returned from a successful run in Hong Kong. The night will also host a feature a sneak preview of Unicorn Horns and the double-bill, Joe: The Perfect Man.
