Began in 2002 by Melissa Major, The Cheshire Unicorn was created to produce new, innovative, absurd, political, smart, surreal and otherwise experimental theatre created by Canadian artists. It has produced some of the most thought-provoking and interesting theatre produced by an independent theatre company in Toronto. The company produces work on subject matters ranging from historical absurdist drama to modern surrealism.

Selected theatre credits: Set and Costume design for Toronto Youth Theatre: City of Angels, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, A Musical Called Robin Hood, Fairy Tale Ending and Lucky Stiff, Set Design for Randolph Young Company: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Footloose and other set and costume design credits include: Kid Cosmic (Summerworks Festival), Dom Juan (Theatre Glendon), Savage/Love (Zeitgeist Theatre Collective), Absolution (Column 13 Actors Company), Death & the Maiden (Theatre @ York) and Design Assistant on Houdini (Segal Theatre Montreal). Scott has also worked in television building puppets for LOGO’s hit animated series “Rick and Steve: the happiest gay couple in the world” and in the UK building show pieces for Robert-Cary Williams’ A/W 2005 Runway Show Badlands for London Fashion Week. Scott is a graduate of York University’s Theatre Production & Design Program and the Royal Court Theatres prestigious Young Writers Programme.
